Jenaplan Study 4th&5th day [オランダ教育/イエナプラン教育]


Because I use PC of hotel, I only use English. When I come back to Japan, I transrate this.

Today we went to the JAS where is the support and study institute of Jenaplan in the Netherlands. JAS means Jenaplan Advies & scholing.

First, we were introduced about JAS and then continue to make a story line from 3rd part "Preparing for journey". 4th part was "Something bad happens" and 5th part was "Something good happens". Afterwards we learned that we can make a film or something and can hold event with other teachers and parents etc.. At that time we can suggest to children "What should we do for celebration?" Theachers just give an aims, times, and assignments.

Questions are more important and it is also important that we discover new questions more than giving answers. At first we have to get 10 questions from children. It is connected lifely learning.

What should we do in our class room first when we come back to Japan. To find a circle place and group work place, to make an environment for talking about summer vacation, and then start giving questions within 30 minutes.

For smart children we give hard problem for presentations and teachers help them for good presentations, for example, suggest using power point or other things and so on.

It is important that discovering the 10 questions within 30 minutes once per week.

At last pf this presentation from Freek, we have gotten a figur that children of Jenaplan school are squirrels, beavers, and monguose, these means are busy, everyone is different, and complement.


In the afternoon, we had a presentation of multiple intelligence from KNAP which is organization for that in the Netherlands. This thinking based on 8 intelligences. Recently it is going to increse to 9 intelligences, new one is dagital intelligence I heard. After presentation we looked around the rooms of multipul intelligence. They were categorized such as art music smart, dagital smart, nature smart, and so on. Which rooms do you feel comfortable? We are different and that is necessary for full of life, and we can cooperate each other based on these categories.

Afterwards we had a BBQ dinner and at last Hubert came back from Utrecht. We got satifications for receiving the lesson of Jenaplan from JAS. This program also had 4 cycles that conversation, work, play, and celebration.

We parted with Hubert and Freek on this day.


5th day

We visited Jenaplan school" "De schaepman school"
This day was the 2nd day of new year's term. To begin with, we greeted to the principal of school and manager of three schools, then we had meeting at staff room like living room. Afterwards Mrs.Richters introduced us all school. According to principal, recently student's number in a class room have to increace from25 to 30 persons for indication of government.

After we looked around the school, we separated 4 groups because if we learn in the class rooms, a few persons are better for each class room.
I watched low grade class-High gread class- middle grade class.

In low grade class, It had circle conversation. Students listened to the teacher's reading of picture book during eating snacks. they had had playing time before this lesson. At this time, I thought Japanese KAMISHIBAI is so great for this lesson.
On the half way, suddenly three students who are other class came into this class room. They collect signs and blessings of all teachers for his/her own birthday. I heard if someone got a birthday, he/she try to get those with other two students who help him/her. I was surprised that even thought class room get the situation like that, students can keep concentrating and they are just watching whole teacher gave sign and blessing to birthday's student. I guess they almost have already known that event, because their class has different age students.

In high grade class, It had block hour time. I want to depend on my Jena mates that details.

After lunch, we were invited to town tour from Mrs.Richters, some people learned that we should learn with environment and history for consisting the social. The town which we visited was influenced from catholicism strongly, we also learned cultures and habits of the country and dutch lands. When we come back to school, I watched middle grade class. They had Reading training and activities for cooperation. At first, teacher indicated 2 groups which consists of 2 persons for instruction, and then students made each groups of two persons and played the game. This game was one child close his/her eyes and other child put the hands on his/her shoulder and lead him/her to entrance with only voice advices. Afterwards they had also another game for cooperation. That one is about eight persons stand on the matt (carpet) and then to move the matt clockwise. Their games are not easy if all group members don't cooperate. Cooperative games are one of the specialities of the Jenaplan education.

At last, we got the information of portfolio.

I hope members of Japan Jenaplan Education Association write down each report as well as I also try to write down.

These are just memorize.
